Cranberry Orange Cake

- Combine flour and baking powder.
- Mix milk, orange juice, vanilla, and orange extract.
- Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, incorporating fully.
- Add the flour mixture and milk mixture alternately to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the flour.
- Pour into prepared pans and bake 25-30 minutes at 350 degrees.
- Cool completely, then assemble and frost.
Notes
Recipe halved from original for 3 8-inch layers. Would fit best in 3 6-inch layers, but baked in 2 pans with no spillover. Cake is very sour and needs frosting to be palatable.
Strawberry version: Reduce sugar to 3/4 c. and juice to 1/4 c. Add strawberry syrup to the liquids. Omit cranberries.
