Recipe halved from original for 3 8-inch layers. Would fit best in 3 6-inch layers, but baked in 2 pans with no spillover. Cake is very sour and needs frosting to be palatable. Strawberry version: Reduce sugar to 3/4 c. and juice to 1/4 c. Add strawberry syrup to the liquids. Omit cranberries.
