Instructions
- Add milk through yeast to the bread machine. Run on dough cycle.
- Divide dough into 12 pieces. Flatten into rounds.
- Divide anko into 12 pieces and form into balls.
- Place a ball of anko in the center of each piece of dough and wrap.
- Steam or bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.
Notes
Use a mix of bread flour and all-purpose flour. Use more bread flour if baking to get more rise, and more all-purpose flour if steaming.
If steaming, make the dough on the dry side. If baking, make the dough on the wet side for a softer bun.
If baking, brush rolls with egg for a shiny finish.
Try a chocolate peanut butter filling: 1/4 cup peanut butter, 2 Tbsp. powdered sugar, 1 Tbsp. cocoa powder
