    Instructions

    1. Combine flour, sugar, and leavenings.
    2. Cut in butter until mixture resembles fine crumbs.
    3. Combine lemon juice and zest with enough milk to make 1/2 cup of liquid. Add to dry ingredients and stir until just mixed.
    4. Shape two circles of dough 1/2 inch thick. Cut each into 6 wedges.
    5. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes, or until edges are lightly browned.

    Notes

    Lemon flavor is very subtle. To improve, use yogurt instead of milk, mix in dried fruit (e.g., blueberries), and/or serve with lemon curd.
