    Instructions

    1. Combine cornmeal through baking powder.
    2. Beat the milk, egg, and melted butter.
    3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Mix until smooth.
    4. Pour into an 8-inch square pan.
    5. Bake at 425 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

    Notes

    Reduce baking time to 15 minutes if making muffins. Can substitute 1/4 c. oil + 1/2 tsp. salt for melted butter.
