Irish Soda Bread

    Instructions

    1. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Cut in butter.
    2. Beat buttermilk and egg, add to flour mixture.
    3. Stir in dried fruits.
    4. Shape into rounds (two for full recipe). Slash top(s) with X about 1/2 inch deep.
    5. Bake at 400 degrees 35-40 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean.
