    Instructions

    1. Beat butter and sugar until fluffy.
    2. Combine flour and baking powder; set aside.
    3. Beat eggs, milk, vanilla, and lemon juice; set aside.
    4. Add 1/3 of the flour mixture to butter mixture, then 1/2 of the milk mixture. Alternate, beating until incorporated.
    5. Pour batter into two prepared 8-inch round pans. Bake 25-30 minutes at 350 degrees.

    Notes

    Use 2/3 of recipe for 6-inch round cake pans.
