    Instructions

    1. Saute the onion in oil until soft. Add the beef and brown. Drain the mixture
    2. Stir in the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, and minced garlic. Cover and cool in the fridge.
    3. Combine dry ingredients (flour through salt). Add soy milk and knead until soft and pliable.
    4. Form rounds of dough and fill with the chilled meat mixture. Pull sides up to wrap dumplings.
    5. Steam manju for 15 minutes until cooked through.

    Notes

    Can also used a basic yeast-based dough to make baozi.
